Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (O U P V) 6 - Pack

    This license sllow you to take up to 6 passengers for hire, on an uninspected passenger vessel that is up to 100 gross tons up to 100 miles offshore.
       Note:  None of the requirements for the licenses have to be completed before taking the course!

Requirements

Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Application (applicant must be 18 years old)
Three Letters of Recommendation 
Passport or birth certificate 
CPR & First Aid card
Social Security Card
Physical 
DRUG TEST signed by Medical Review Officer
Sea Service(s) form showing 360 days of sea time on yours or someone else's vessel. To obtain the Near Coastal endorsement, 90 days must be on ocean or near coastal waters. In addition 90 days of the 360 must be withen the last three years.

Coast Guard Application fee

Upgrade to 100 Ton Masters    Inland and Near Coastal

    Allows you to operate a Coast Guard Inspected Vessel up to 100 gross tons and up to 200 miles offshore with the Near Coastal license.  These vessels carry more than 6 passengers for hire.
   This license has Inland, Near Coastal and tonnage categories. All are dependant upon your experience. The tonage breakdowns are 25, 50 and 100 ton.

Requirements

OUPV License or completed OUPV course
Application (applicant must be a US citizen and 19 years old minimum)
Three Letters of Recommendation (not required for Upgrade only)
Passport or birth certificate (not required for Upgrade only)
CPR & First Aid card (not required for Upgrade only)
Social Security Card (not required for Upgrade only)
Physical (not always required)
DRUG TEST signed by Medical Review Officer (not always required)
Sea Service(s) form showing 360 days of sea time on yours or someone else's vessel for the Inland license. To obtain the Near Coastal license, a total of 720 days is required. 360 of the 720 days must be on ocean or near coastal waters. In addition 90 days of the 720 must be within the last three years.

Towing Endorsement

Allows you to engage in Commercial assistance towing.  You may work for companies such as "Sea Tow" or "Tow Boats US"  etc.

      Required to operate the VHF radio on an Inspected Vessel
